When I was first introduced to the Octogon, I thought to myself there is a sport that goes back to before any other sport. Where warriors once stood and only the toughest man stood alone at the end. That to me is as real as it gets. A sport where there is no man on your side, a sport of one, but one that you don’t have to be the strongest or the toughest. What you have to be to succeed is the most creative. Time, emotion, speed, love. They all come together when you are alone on the canvas. Alone in the ring.

As we all know now  The Tewaaraton Award is the pre-eminent lacrosse award, which is annually awarded to the NCAA men's and women's lacrosse player of the year.

Laxartist.com got the honor of doing this years cover , but the real  honors went to  Ned Crotty, Duke University, Senior, Attack.

The quarterback of a Duke offense is the second Blue Devils player to take home the Tewaaraton, following in the footsteps of teammate Matt Danowski (2007). Crotty had 23 goals and 63 assists on the season, leading NCAA Division I with 3.15 helpers per game.

Caitlyn McFadden, University of Maryland, Senior, Midfield. The senior wins the award after being a finalist.
